Energica Ego – The motorcycle, but not as we know it…

Energica Ego

The Energica Ego – Here at Two Wheel Centre for a limited time!

Over the last decade or so, you will have no doubt seen the countless attempts to produce vehicles that produce less of a carbon footprint. Here at Two Wheel Centre, we have had the pleasure of riding a piece of the motorcycling future. It is our pleasure to introduce you to the Energica Ego!

Electrifying!

The bike was developed by individuals who have built performance vehicles for decades and constructed in the heart of Italy. The Energica Ego oozes the charm and flamboyance that we have come to expect from Italian built motorcycles.

Featuring a massive 144 ft lb of torque, a top speed of 150mph and a 0-60 time of 3 seconds, the Energica Ego shrugs off the stigma of electric vehicles as slow, silent little run-arounds.

No blood, no sweat… and no gears!

The Energica Ego features a ride by wire throttle composition that allows the rider to control the acceleration of the electric motor and deceleration based on engine braking.

Couple this with the a Brembo braking system and Bosch ABS system and you’ve got a bike with brilliantly simple performance and superb braking! Although the Energica Ego may feel alien at first, the bike gives you plenty to feel confident about.

Test ridden? You betcha!

At Two Wheel Centre, we have had the opportunity to ride the Energica Ego with positivity from each member of staff that has ridden the bike. Peter Scott, Two Wheel Centre boss, has plenty of positive thoughts regarding the Energica Ego. Speaking with Pete and asking him to sum up his experience with the bike, you can see the smile emerging as he recalls the experience.

“As someone used to petrol engine bikes, it is a totally different experience but an excellent ride. It is heavier than the average superbike but that added weight means that the bike is planted and doesn’t feel skittish in the corners. The Showa forks and Brembo brakes make it feel controllable when riding the bike at speed and the bike is very quick!”

Good customer Chris Henton has ridden this bike and much prefers it to his own bike! Chris says:

“Thanks for the experience of a lifetime! Awesome performance and handling, I love this bike to bits! I ride an Aprilia RSV Mille and I’m sorry to say that this bike is far better to ride! Didn’t want to bring it back. Best bike I’ve been on and I’ve ridden a few. Thanks again to Pete Scott for the privilege and thrill!”

Come and see this bike in the flesh here at Two Wheel Centre for the next week! Catch a glimpse of something that may one day replace the traditional motorcycle.
