Each different type of helmet has its benefits. Take a flip front helmet: they're especially ideal for people who wear glasses, as they usually allow easy insertion of glasses once the chin bar is up. They're also great for touring and commuting. Some flip front helmets are dual homologated (both P and J rated), meaning that you can legally ride with the chin bar in the up position.
