Improving on an incredible helmet like the original NXR was always going to be a challenge, but Shoei have taken their best loved helmet to new heights with the Shoei NXR 2.

Constructed in Shoei’s AIM material which is comprised of organic and multi-composite fibres, the NXR 2 retains the incredible strength and lightweight nature of its predecessor. The helmet weighs in at just 1390g in a size medium, for incredible comfort whether on the road or on the track. The outer shell is created in four shell sizes (XS-S, M, L, XL-XXL) to ensure a comfortable fit throughout the life of the helmet and without any unnecessary padding.

Beneath the outer shell of the helmet lies a multi-density EPS membrane, designed to protect your head in a variety of accident scenarios and works with the shock absorbent outer shell for complete protection. The EPS membrane also features ventilation channels, helping to effectively channel incoming and outgoing air through the helmet, a welcomed feature when riding in warmer climates.

The ventilation opportunities on the Shoei NXR 2 are numerous, with six openings at the front of the helmet and four rear extraction vents built beneath the integrated aerodynamic rear spoiler. Rather than wind tunnel test their helmets, Shoei choose to wind tunnel develop helmets, ensuring that the helmets are as aerodynamic as possible and perfectly perform every time you ride. The Shoei NXR 2 is no exception!

New to the Shoei NXR 2 is a central visor locking mechanism, with an all new CWR-F2 visor which features a two-dimensional surface shape which offers an enhanced view with less distortion for a clearer view of the road or the track. The visor is Pinlock ready as standard, with the pins being moved further back so as not to interrupt your vision when riding, and also features a Pinlock Max Vision 120 insert in the box with your Shoei NXR 2, ensuring your field of view is not interrupted by mist when riding in cooler conditions.

The improved sealing of the visor works in conjunction with the redesigned interior padding to help provide a quieter ride, whether you’re riding through city streets or tackling the twisties on a sunny Sunday. The interior lining, which features a 3D centre pad, is completely removable and washable, allowing you to effectively clean your helmet interior and prolong the fresh, new helmet feeling.

You’ll also find emergency puller tabs at the cheek pads as part of emergency quick release system. This enables the emergency services to easily remove the helmet from the rider’s head in the event of an accident, without causing any unnecessary strain on the rider’s neck. This could make a critical difference in an accident scenario.
