Created in a premium grade cowhide leather construction, the RST Sabre Leather Jacket features a matt finish to the leather with subtle grey detailing, less bold than the usual white logo that adorns RST’s race and track focussed attire, yet still unmistakeably RST. This premium leather jacket feels wonderful in your hands, with a soft supple feel to the leather for additional comfort when riding. Premium cowhide leather used in the Sabre Airbag jacket offers unparalleled protection against abrasion, a reassuring fact that has undoubtedly helped this airbag leather jacket achieves a CE rating of AAA, the highest available rating. TPU cups adorn the exterior shoulder area, further enhancing the sports aesthetic of the Sabre Jacket as well as helping the jacket to slide across tarmac, as opposed to gripping the road surface which can cause further damage after an unfortunate spill. CE Level 1 elbow and shoulder armour come fitted as standard along with a CE approved In&Motion back protector that houses the electronic brain that operates your airbag.

Since the airbag system is already fitted to the suit, there’s no issues or hassle of fitting the airbag system into the suit. Fitting the In&Box into your RST airbag suit is easy, with a dedicated cut-out within the supplied CE approved back protector; simply plug in and put on and you’re ready for the racetrack. All new RST airbag products are supplied without the In&Motion In&Box as standard; once you have purchased your new RST airbag clothing, you will need to head to the In&Motion website and complete the associated forms. After this, In&Motion will personally ship a brand new In&Box to your designated address that is ready to go with your selected preferences and updated with the latest firmware.

A subscription service is required to ensure that you remain protected, which can be completed at the In&Motion website and can be paid either monthly or annually, whichever you prefer. This subscription offers continuous optimisation with the latest algorithms and updates to ensure that the protection you are receiving is nothing but the best. When registering the In&Box with In&Motion, you are given the choice to activate the Track Option at an additional cost; the airbag algorithms within the In&Box are different between road usage and race circuits and requires changing depending on how you are using the suit*.

The subscription also grants full access to the My In&Box app, which available on both the iOS and Android app stores. This application allows you to monitor the battery levels within the In&Box, ensure that the In&Box is properly connected, check whether there are any updates to the existing airbag software and more. The subscription also offers an unlimited guarantee**, giving you peace of mind that you’re investing in a quality piece of technology. Plus, thanks to the VIP service included with the subscription, if your In&Box does encounter any issues, you’ll be shipped a new In&Box from In&Motion straight away, even if you haven’t returned yours yet!*** The shaping of the box means that the In&Motion box can be used across the whole RST airbag range, meaning that you don’t have to purchase additional boxes and subscriptions. The airbag suit can withstand multiple detonations of the airbag vest, however in your best interests, RST recommend that the jacket be returned after three detonations so that the jacket can be checked by RST. This inspection service is carried out free of charge by RST as part of their commitment to keeping you safe. Each detonation uses a pressurised canister to expand the airbag and keep you safe, which will need to be replaced after the detonation and are available to purchase separately. Once the airbag has been deployed, the garment will remain fully inflated for ten seconds before slightly deflating to 80% capacity, ensuring you remain protected when laid on the ground but subsiding enough for you to take the garment off. In order to fully deflate the airbag jacket, simply release the canister from the jacket; this will activate a release valve within the airbag mechanism, slowly deflating the garment.

Ergonomics is important in any road focused leather jacket and the RST Sabre Airbag leather jacket is no exception. Large volumes of stretch panelling in the form of a four-way stretch material and leather accordion stretch panelling can be found on this jacket, offering an unrestricted range of movement from your new airbag leather jacket. This helps the versatility of the Sabre Airbag Jacket, making it suitable for the riders of sports bikes, sports tourers, adventure bikes and more! The additional benefit to the stretch panelling is to leave room for reasonable expansion of the jacket if the airbag system within the jacket is activated. The inclusion of a Velcro waist adjustment belt allows you to tailor the fit and feel of your new RST Sabre Leather jacket to suit your body shape.

Ventilation is important within any jacket, particularly when riding in warmer climates or on sunny afternoons. The inclusion of perforated panel ventilation at the upper chest, upper arms and lower back help cool air enter the jacket when riding while letting warmer, stale air efficiently exit the jacket. The inclusion of a Quickdry mesh lining interior helps the air circulate within the jacket, cooling you as you ride and helping limit the sticky feeling when riding on hot summer days. Beneath the leather exterior of the jacket is a 125g thermal gilet, offering a level of insulation when riding in cooler weather. The thermal gilet is easily removed from within the jacket when the temperature starts to rise and can be easily reattached when the situation calls for it. It is also small enough to fit in your rucksack or panniers! The thermal lining also features two internal pockets, helping to store your essentials when out on the road, in addition to the two zipper external pockets.
