The ideal textile touring jacket with revolutionary ventilation technology, the Weise Summit Jacket is a textile touring motorcycle jacket that is packed with features to make your long distance journeys easier.
The Cordura outer construction of the jacket makes for a heavy-duty outer construction, ready to withstand serious abrasion in the event of an accident. Additionally, Super-Fabric material can be found at the shoulders as a slide resistant overlay, offering increased resistance at an area that typically receives intense abrasion in an accident scenario. Backing up the abrasion resistant outer construction of the Summit jacket is a five-piece armour set within the jacket; found at the back, elbows and shoulders as standard, this strategically placed motorcycle armour is flexible, unobtrusive and fitted to dedicated pockets to ensure that armour is in the right place when you need it most, effectively dispelling impact energy away from these areas. Offering additional passive protection, the Weise Summit Jacket features 3M reflective detailing elements too, maximising your visibility when riding, even in weather conditions when visibility is greatly reduced.
Within the jacket, a 3D Air Mesh lining allows air to circulate effectively within the jacket, keeping you cool as your ride and stopping the textile material from sticking to your skin in warmer temperatures. New for the Weise Textile Jackets is the Fidlock Ventilation Technology; this brilliant locking mechanism allows large vented areas at the chest of the jacket to be opened and held open with ease. The Fidlock technology utilises a small lug into a c-shaped cup fixing, magnetically finding the centre and securely locking in place. Locked in this c-shaped fixing, the vent is highly unlikely to become dislodged and begin flapping around, making it a much more durable fastening system than that of a standard magnet or push button fastening and much easier to locate than a hook system. Holding open the vents reveals a thermoplastic placeholder, retaining the shape of the ventilation area to allow as much cool air flow into the jacket as possible while riding. These large chest vents can be closed with a secure waterproof zipper closure, minimising water entry into the jacket when riding in heavy rain.
Waterproof zippers can also be found at the rear of the jacket, allowing warm air to escape from within the jacket with rain protection when the weather turns foul. Meanwhile at the front of the jacket, further ventilation points at the side and upper arm allow even more airflow into the jacket while the two-way zipper found at the cuff opens up a huge ventilation point at the lower arm. This two-way zipper allows you to tailor the cuff closure whilst retaining the large ventilation properties of the jacket. Two adjustment points at each arm as well as an endless strap adjustment at the waist allow the rider to tailor the fit of the jacket to suit their body shape, making the ventilation all the more effective and stopping the jacket billowing around when riding at speed. Accordion stretch panelling found at the elbow and shoulders allow for freedom of movement both on and off the bike, with no restriction due to the material while ensuring the jacket retains its shape.
Beneath the outer construction of the Weise Summit Jacket lies a waterproof liner; this breathable liner allows water vapour to escape from within the jacket whilst ensuring water doesn’t enter the jacket when you find yourself caught in the worst of the weather. This waterproof liner can be easily removed when the summer arrives, leaving you with a lightweight ventilated motorcycle jacket. The waterproof liner can be easily rolled up and stored in a pannier bag or in your rucksack and quickly attached when needed. Rather than opt for a thermal gilet, Weise have chosen to offer a Weise thermal shell jacket which is to be worn underneath the Weise Summit Jacket and offers additional insulation when riding in the cold. This jacket can be worn as a standalone garment when off the bike, keeping you warm and representing your new Weise jacket at the same time.
The collar of the textile motorcycle jacket is neoprene lined for the ultimate in comfort and is adjustable too, allowing you to tailor the fit of the collar to suit your needs. To the left of the collar you’ll find a small hook, designed to hold the throat coat out of the way when off the bike, or keep it out the way when additional ventilation is required. A real touring motorcycle jacket needs plenty of storage space and the Weise Summit Jacket offers pockets in abundance; two internal pockets are ideal for storing valuables such as your phone or wallet, while two waterproof outer box pockets, handwarmer pockets and a large rear map pocket offer additional storage space for all your essentials when out on the road. Incorporated into the rear map pocket is a smaller zipped pocket, ideal for storing documents and is sealed with a waterproof zipper.
The Weise Summit Textile jacket features YKK zippers throughout its construction, a brand synonymous with motorcycling and known for it’s hardwearing properties. A large zipper found within the jacket allows you to zip the Weise Summit Jacket into any compatible pair of Weise trousers. This not only minimises wind entering in through the rear of the jacket when you’re trying to keep warm but also minimises the risk of the small of your back becoming exposed in the event of a slide across the tarmac.
Available in two colours and in a large size range with a Weise no-quibble two-year warranty for the ultimate in peace of mind with your purchase.
