The new Suzuki DL800 RE V-Strom embodies the spirit of long-distance touring motorcycling, providing you with all the essential features so that you can truly journey without limitations. Featuring an all new parallel twin engine configuration, bi-directional quickshifter, switchable ABS and more, there is nowhere that the new Suzuki V-Strom 800 isn't willing to go at a moment's notice.

The V-Strom 800RE Tour comes with all of the incredible features and specifications of the V-Strom 800RE but with added extras, including a Black Aluminium top case (38 litre capacity), Carrier plate for Black Aluminium top case, Black Aluminium side case set (37 litre capacity per case), Black Aluminium side case carrier set and Lock set (6pcs). This luggage is also available in Silver if preferred.

Suzuki have built their all-new V-Strom around a brand-new parallel twin engine, which boasts some impressive performance figures and innovative new technology to help you get the most from your new Suzuki DL800RE. This brand-new engine features a 270° crank configuration to guarantee a strong torque delivery that is accompanied by a DOHC design and four valves per cylinder for a clean, free-revving nature all the way to the top end.

As part of this innovative new power plant, Suzuki have included the Suzuki Cross Balancer. This is a first amongst production motorcycles and is included here to supress engine vibration to help contribute to a smoother engine operation and reduce the weight of the engine. This carefully considered inclusion helps to counteract any unnecessary engine vibration for a smoother, more enjoyable riding experience.

The all-new chassis delivers reassuring straight-line stability when riding at motorway speeds, even when carrying a passenger and when the bike is fitted with the genuine-accessory luggage, loaded with gear. The compact front-to-rear dimensions of the slim new parallel twin engine contributes to achieving optimum weight distribution, riding position, and the ability to move the rider’s hip point forward. As a design change, the Suzuki DL800 RE features tapered handlebars and a slightly forward leaning riding position for increased confidence when navigating tight and twisting roads on your next adventure.

The bright LED lights sit in hexagonal housings for a unique, recognisable look and are topped with an additional LED position light. Rather than opt for a reflector or projector type headlights, the new Suzuki DL800RE uses mono-focus type headlights that shine straight through the outer lens for clearer illumination from your headlights. These LED headlights help keep the new, narrow profile of the Suzuki V-Strom 800 and are accompanied by LED rear lighting and LED indicators too.

Controlling your new Suzuki V-Strom RE is made easier thanks to the inclusion of the Suzuki Clutch Assist System; this system works as an assist clutch to make the clutch lever easier to pull while transmitting power, reducing the fatigue felt by the rider when travelling over longer distances. The SCAS also works as a slipper clutch when downshifting, offering a certain degree of clutch slip and making it easier to downshift when riding.

Suzuki’s Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) features three different riding modes to help tailor the machine to suit the rider or the riding conditions. These riding modes are distinguished by the letters A, B and C, which stand for ‘Active’, ‘Basic’ and ‘Comfort’. ‘Active’ provides the most direct throttle response for exciting acceleration on good weather days, while ‘Comfort’ offers a softer throttle response and gentler torque delivery, perfect for wet weather days or a more relaxed riding style.

The Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) features three different traction control modes to let you tailor your new Suzuki to meet your needs. The STCS uses inputs from the throttle position sensor, crank position sensor, gear position sensor, front wheel speed sensor and rear wheel speed sensor. All these sensors feed back to the DL800RE’s electronic brain and makes adjustments accordingly when an imminent loss of traction is detected, helping keep you safer on the road and a blessing in wet weather conditions. The Suzuki DL800RE also features a two-mode anti-lock braking system (ABS), with mode one offering minimal interruptions when riding on looser surfaces while mode two being better suited to city riding and regular road conditions.

A new ride-by-wire electronic throttle system allows for a greater connection between the rider and the bike for a more direct throttle response. This system works by using a series of sensors to communicate with the throttle valves, offering a lighter and faster throttle response with a natural, familiar feel. The inclusion of the ride-by-wire throttle has also made it possible for Suzuki to include a bi-directional quickshifter on the new V-Strom 800, which allows the rider to shift up and down the gearbox without the use of the clutch lever. The quickshifter’s electronic sensors automatically interrupt power delivery for a fraction of a second, allowing the gear cogs to unload and the rider to upshift, all in one seamless transaction.

With dual radially mounted Nissin front calipers and Nissin single piston rear caliper, stopping certainly isn’t an issue on the new Suzuki DL800 RE. Showa Separate Function Fork – Big Piston (SFF-BP) inverted front forks deliver stable damping characteristics that make them suitable for long touring, with a spring rate that is optimised for both solid cornering performance as well as straight-line stability. The spring preload can be adjusted, allowing the suspension to be set to best match the rider’s preference or the usage conditions. The rear shock absorber can be adjusted for spring preload and rebound damping, with a remote adjuster making setting the spring preload easier.

A new full colour TFT dashboard display helps highlight everything that you could need to know about your new Suzuki DL800 RE while riding. Speed to gear position, fuel gauge to rider modes, the new 5” TFT dash shows it all and features manual or automatic switching settings, with white for daytime riding and black for night riding to maximise visibility at any time of day. Located behind the dashboard display is a USB charging port, perfect for keeping your phone charged when navigating or for powering your GPS satellite navigation system.

The Suzuki V-Strom 800RE's 19" front wheel and 17" rear wheel feature Dunlop's D614 tyres, specifically designed for the DL800RE. These custom engineered tyres feature an internal structure that delivers agile handling, solid grip, and high-speed stability. In addition, the exclusive tread pattern of the tyres helps provide sure traction and braking, as well as smooth handling. The tread also introduces a new silica compound that enhances positive grip in wet conditions and features durable wear resistance. You'll also find a clear anti-scratch windshield which is large in size and designed to reduce fatigue on longer rides by offering excellent wind and weather protection. This screen can be adjusted in 15mm increments using a hex key, allowing you to tailor the performance of the Suzuki DL800 screen to suit your needs.

All new Suzuki motorcycles and scooters registered in 2024 in the UK benefit from a three year warranty (parts and labour) with unlimited mileage.

The three year warranty period consists of the standard two year Suzuki warranty with a one year extension. Vehicles must be registered between 01/01/24 and 31/12/24 to qualify. The bike must be serviced at the recommended intervals by a UK authorized Suzuki dealer, or the warranty will become invalid. Vehicles must be kept in the UK during the warranty extension period.
