Seen here for the first time, Suzuki unveil the Suzuki Eco Performance Alpha (SEP-a) engine. This newly designed engine showcases Suzuki's efforts to create a scooter with quieter operation and improved fuel efficiency with excellent performance. The 124cc air cooled single cylinder engine delivers an exciting response with a twist of the throttle whilst achieving Euro 5 emissions compliance and an impressive 148.67mpg.

The newly engineered Suzuki Eco Performance Alpha engine works in conjunction with the Engine Auto Stop-Start system, another first on a Suzuki motorcycle. The EASS system automatically shuts down and restarts the engine to reduce the amount of time that the Burgman Street 125 EX is idling. This not only reduces emissions but fuel consumptions too, proving highly beneficial in the urban environment when stopping at traffic lights or riding in stop-and-go traffic. Working in conjunction with the Stop Start system is the all new Silent Start System, see here for the first time on a Suzuki motorcycle. The system quietly starts the engine and works with the idling stop function of the EASS system to restart the engine in a smooth manner, as if it had been running the whole time.

A combined braking system offers well balanced braking at the 190mm diameter front brake disc and the 130mm rear drum brake for a controlled and efficient stopping power whenever required and from any speed. The crisp lines of the new Burgman Street 125 EX further the modern styling of the scooter, as does the LED lighting which can be found at the headlight, position lights and combination rear light for all round improved visibility when travelling at night or in poor weather conditions.

Front compartments offer a degree of practicality not found on some modern scooters. The right hand compartment is large enough to accommodate a water bottle and other small items that you may require quick access to, while the left hand compartment features a closing lid to protect the contents from the elements. Within the left hand compartment of the Burgman Street lies a 2A USB power outlet, perfect for charging your phone while on the go and features an attractive blue LED surround when the ignition is active, making the USB charger easier to find in low light conditions.

Two bag hooks make transporting shopping bags and other items easier and with greater convenience.
