The Sidi Trial Zero 1 boots are the next stage of evolution for Sidi's specialist trials boots. A sharper new look is accompanied by more technical base materials, better protection and a more comfortable liner. These lightweight, comfortable and flexible boots work hard with you to meet the demands of pure trials riding. They are also a great choice for other off road disciplines.
Sidi have used Technomicro microfibre as a base material for the Trial Zero 1 construction, in line with their top-end Crossfire 3 motocross boots. This is a highly technical material which has all the abrasion-resistance of natural leather but is actually stronger and more durable. It's also more comfortable and lighter, with extra flexibility and a softer feel. After a muddy ride, it's even easier to clean with a resistance to water and stains.
As well as Technomicro, the outer of the Trial Zero 1 boots includes a suede heat shield panel on the inner calf. This also gives the advantage of extra grip and a large area of uninterrupted contact with the bike, helping trials riders with the considerable control they need to have over their bike.
Though these boots are light and flexible, they also offer all-round protection tailored to the trials rider. The Trial Zero 1 boots have achieved CE approval for their high level of protection, but avoid a lot of bulky external armour so that the rider can keep good contact with the bike. The large fixed shin plate provides a tough shield against impact. The rigid, non-deformable heel cup is anatomically shaped to prevent unnatural twisting.
Inside the boots, comfort is key. The foot area is lined with a Cambrelle® soft, moisture-wicking liner that draws sweat away from the skin to keep your feet as dry and comfortable as possible. The leg is lined with an Air Teflon mesh, which uses a unique honeycomb structure to trap a thin layer of cool air next to your skin. This material doesn't retain moisture, allowing sweat to escape up and out of the boots and promoting quick drying.
For the trials rider, flexibility is important for good performance. Concertina flex panels run down the front and back of the Trial Zero 1 boots to support the full range of natural movement. Another vital feature of trials boots is the sole, and Sidi have used a classic off-road rubber sole with excellent grip, to help you stay on the footpegs and ride well in all conditions. A nylon inner sole strengthens the outer sole to prevent hyperflexion of the foot. Removable arch support is also provided.
The clever retention system on the Trial Zero 1 boots ensures a secure, personalised fit every time. Three cam-lock buckles are adjustable by fine increments, able to be set independently to accommodate each part of the foot and leg comfortably. After the first time you set them, these buckles 'remember' their place and there's no need to adjust them again. Used across many of Sidi's high-end boots, these buckles are extremely tough and easily replaceable if needed.
