The Shoei Hornet ADV is a helmet built to go the distance over any terrain, in an aggressive new design. With all the benefits of a full face helmet, including a CNS-2 Pinlock visor as standard, it also doubles as an off-road adventure helmet with a wide field of vision and protective peak. The outer shell, which comes in 4 sizes, is constructed from Shoei's extra strong AIM+ organic fibre layers. Coupled with the dual-density EPS liner, this enables the Hornet ADV to give maximum protection at a very low weight.
As an extra safety feature, Shoei have used their E.Q.R.S. system in this helmet. This means that the cheek pads can be removed by the emergency services quickly and easily in the event of an accident, using a pull tab located at the bottom of the helmet. This enables the emergency services to remove the helmet without causing unnecessary strain to the rider's neck - something which could make a critical difference.
The Hornet ADV is designed to maximise comfort and minimise distraction whilst riding. Helping to achieve this aim is the extensive ventilation, with 4 intake vents to the chin, peak and forehead to pull in large amounts of cool air. Warm air then exits the helmet quickly via 6 exhaust vents, ensuring rapid airflow and avoiding overheating. The CNS-2 Pinlock visor is mist-retardant so that your vision won't be impaired, but if you do need to remove the visor, it's quick and easy to do so. The helmet also benefits from the extra anti-fog protection of the breath guard, supplied as standard.
The interior of the Hornet ADV is lined with a soft, quick-drying fabric with a 3D centre pad to ensure a comfortable feel. The cheek pads, centre pad and chinstrap are removable and washable, for long lasting freshness (Two Wheel Centre recommends hand washing and leaving to dry naturally).
Shoei have thoughtfully included ear pads, to keep the noise down inside the helmet. The Hornet ADV is also intercom-ready, meaning that the rider can communicate safely without being distracted by road or engine noise. The addition of a chin curtain also helps to protect the rider from debris and outside noise.
The Hornet ADV uses a double D-ring fastening for perfect adjustment and easy handling.
