Who are Draggin?

Draggin Jeans® sell a range of women’s and men’s highly-protective motorcycle riding jeans. Since 1997, the year this famous Australian brand was established, owner Grant Mackintosh has worked hard to create motorcycle riding jeans that are designed for safety and giving riders’ confidence on their bike. Beginning in Aus, they have now branched out to international markets and are well-respected around the world. This success is owed to their fashionable designs, wide variety of styles and independently approved protective lining.

What is unique about Draggin motorbike riding jeans?

Draggin Jeans® look almost identical to a regular pair of denim trousers. If you enjoy stopping off for a swift pint or heading for a Sunday lunch on your travels, you won’t stick out like a sore biker’s thumb. But fitting in and looking casual won’t keep you protected if you’re involved in an off. That’s the beauty of these jeans, unbeknownst to the naked eye. Draggin Jeans® are currently the only motorbike jean brand in the world that have developed an inner lining to pass the well-regarded CE test for abrasion, burst and tear resistance. The lining is comprised of Dupont® and Kevlar® fibres which are knitted so that the loop of the weave faces out to the road. This is a highly important protection factor, if you fall off a bike and slide across the road (road rash) this thoughtful knit-work will slow you down and minimise friction, as well as keeping heat away from the body.

Owner Grant Mackintosh even put them to the test himself…

Mackintosh headed to Calder park – a Melbourne racetrack – to test them himself. Donning the motorbike riding jeans he let himself be dragged along the track asphalt to prove his confidence in their product. They didn’t let him down, he came out scratch free. Yet like any great artist, he’s always looking for ways to improve, “I continue to learn about the science of the product, and further develop the most technically advanced motorcycle jeans in the world.”

What do Two Wheel Centre have available in the men’s Draggin Jean® range?

The Draggin range offers a variety of styles, sizes and colours. With the exception of the Holeshot options, which offer more protection graded at CE level 2, all pairs are comprised of the same protective Kevlar® Dupont® lining.

At the higher end of the price range we have the Draggin® Holeshot and Next Gen Jean styles. The Holeshot are available in indigo blue with the highest level of abrasion protection. Priced at £264.99 these are very popular with safety and fashion-conscious riders. Then we have the Next Gen style – aka next generation – implying these are forward-thinking, motorbike riding jeans of the future. Offered in both blue and black so riders can choose which best suits their taste, and wardrobe. These are also highly protective, with a stretchy straight leg style and a semi-boot cut at the ankle to accommodate chunky riding boots.

The more affordable Slix come in at £169.99 and are just as protective but offer, as the name suggests, a slicker look. Coated in black silicone, they are meant to imitate regular riding leathers, but with the fit of a jean. The tapered leg is flattering for all body types and minimises wind resistance – an important feature for keeping your body temperature up on the road.

The Classic style is timeless and will continue to look great through many seasons. But one of the most attractive points of this option, available in indigo blue and black, is the sizing. The waist sizes begin at 28″ and extends up to 60″. Sizes 28″ to 44″ also come in both short (32″), regular(34″) and long leg-lengths(38″), whereas 46″ to 60″ are only available in regular.

Additional info:

  • Prices range between £119.99 and £264.99.
  • Aside from the classic style, most Draggin motorbike riding jeans come in waist sizes 28″ to 44″ with leg length 34″.
  • Draggin® also offer some popular ladies styles. (We’ll be back later in the week with a round-up of these!)
  • The regular leg length for Draggin’ Jeans is 34″ inseam for men, 32″ inseam for women. These are longer in the leg so they cover your ankles whilst you’re sat on a motorcycle. You can have these hemmed up at your local tailors. However, Draggin’ recommend putting on your boots and sitting on your bike first to check the length you require.
