Quite unlike other covers that propose to do the same job, the Taylormade Case Covers are not manufactured to be used as decorative pieces - they're made with a more important purpose in mind. The Taylormade Covers are made from layers of carbon fibre, with inner layers of abrasion resistant pure kevlar.

Some thicker billet covers can be manufactured in such a way that they become unbelievably strong. On impact these covers can actually deform the crankcases - not what you want.
