Two Wheel Centre

Two Wheel Centre sponsored rider Taz Taylor had a whirlwind time at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Riding in the MRO Superteams Championship, which is for riders of 12-18 years, thirteen-year old Taz won all four 80cc classes.

Whats more, the races were run alongside the 125cc riders, where (on his 80cc bike) Taz still came third overall!

There is no denying that Taz Taylor has got serious racing talent….just imagine what the next 10 years could bring for our young star?

Having later taken to his new GP125 for a test run, Taz remarked that his 80 ‘feels like a toy’ in comparison. Taz’s dad, Shane, hinted that Taz might focus on aiming at BSB next year, and in preparation he may retire to practice on the GP125 for this season.

Exciting times ahead for Taz Taylor and Team Two Wheel Centre – watch this space!

Reported in this week’s MCN, it has come to light that individuals advertising used bikes for sale online are being approached by scam artists who plan to swindle hundreds, if not thousands of pounds from unknowing sellers.

Steer Clear of Scam ArtistsThe scammers offer to pay remotely for the bike in a bankers draft, plus extra for the payment towards the ‘shipping company’. No sooner does the seller pay the ‘shipping company’, than the bankers draft is cancelled and the unaware seller is left hundreds out of pocket.

Dodgy. Anyone who is web-savvy will see the scammer’s email a mile off, but unfortunately, those who are not used to seeing a dozen spam emails a day might be drawn in.

Sellers should watch out for emails which read to the tune of:

“The price is fairly ok, and the payment will be written to you in bank transfer….Also you don’t have to bother about pick up because I have a local shipping agent that will come to your place after the transaction is done.”

So sellers beware! There are scammers on the prowl for YOUR cash!

The Gerbing range of heated motorcycle gloves is incredibly popular, but with so many features to choose from, which Gerbing Gloves will be best for you?

Take a quick look at the Gerbing T5, G3 and Hybrid gloves below to help you decide:

  • Gerbing T5 Gloves

  • A very popular option, the Gerbing T5 heated gloves make use of a Hypora waterproof membrane to keep you dry, combined with the Microwire heating technology and Thinsulate thermal liner to keep you as warm as toast.

These gloves are intended for use primarily on the bike, or coupled up with similar vehicles powered by a 12V battery.

All basic wiring is supplied (including an on/off switch) to get you started.

  • Gerbing Hybrid Gloves

  • Very similar to the T5 gloves, there is one main difference with the Gerbing Hybrid Gloves – a subtle pocket on the cuff, intended for carrying the small portable battery packs (not included). The Hybrid gloves are so called, because they also come supplied with the basic required wiring (including an on/off switch) for you to also hook up to your bike, so you can have the best of both worlds wherever you go.

The battery pack for the Hybrid gloves is available separately at £85.00 (includes batteries and charges).

  • Gerbing G3 Gloves

  • New to the UK for 2010, the Gerbing G3 gloves are already proving to be pretty popular! A much more lightweight leather glove, complete with a waterproof and windproof membrane, the G3 gloves do not have a designated pocket area for the portable battery pack, and they are therefore best suited to activities involving a 12V battery (as with the T5 gloves) such as on your motorcycle.

Again, all basic wiring is included along with an on/off switch.

Honda SMARTrainer

Here’s something interesting for you…

Imagine undergoing your motorcycle training without actually going out on to the road.

Ok, you’ll probably go out on the road eventually, but only after you’ve proven yourself on the Honda SMARTrainer.

The Honda SMARTrainer (Safe Motorcyclist Awareness and Recognition Trainer) is a revolutionary new training tool. Simulating a road-riding environment, the SMARTrainer allows the rider to SEE (See, Evaluate, Execute) different hazards and challenges which face motorcyclists every day.

But is this revolutionary new training tool likely to be a hit, or is it likely to be heckled?

Based on the equestrian version for the horse world, the Ridemaster Pro, it is likely to be a hit. This simulated horse-riding tool assists riders in the same way the Honda SMARTrainer helps bikers to prepare for the real deal.

But what about price? Well, we don’t know yet – but again if the Ridemaster Pro is anything to go by, you can be looking over £14,000. Yes, that’s £14,000.

Still want to buy one? Head over the the Motorcycle Safety Foundation website.
