So it’s dark when we leave work, and soon going to be dark when we leave for work. Layer upon layer seems to be needed (even when inside the office) and cold drinks are a thing of the past. Which can only mean one thing..winter is here.

Now as every biker knows, this time of year is definitely not the most pleasant time to be riding around your bike on. It’s cold, wet and ultimately not very comfortable! This is where motorcycle brands do really excel however.

The many waterproof, windproof and thermal textiles flying around (not to mention the wonderful invention of heated clothing) guarantees your journey will be a lot less traumatic. Gerbing, Weise, RST and Alpinestars (just to name a few) are premium brands who produce premium winter products.

Every price budget is taken into consideration among the many manufacturers, and I am more than certain you will find a garment which suits you perfectly. We all purchase a bike for the rush and exhilaration it gives us when riding around, why would you want to limit that excitement to only a few months a year? All because you reside in a country where the weather is (put nicely) not so great.

It really is worth checking out. To keep you happy, your body happy and your bike happy (as it’s not been confided to the garage for 6 months). And we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have, or even just to give you our tips on what we’d reccomend this winter.

Weise are a hugely successful motorcycle manufacturer, so it was only natural that their next step to escalate them further up the ladder, was the introduction of heated clothing to their range. And their first product to be fabricated is the Weise Montana Element Heated Gloves.

Heated Gloves prove extremely popular (around this time of year especially) and with the brand of Weise renown and trusted all over the globe, you can guarantee these gloves are going to be a sure fire hit.

Based on the Weise Monatana 120 Waterproof Gloves, there is the additional feature of the 120g thermal lining. The heated elements wrap around the fingers and thumb and have two heat settings of low (45°) and high (60°). Powered by batteries (included) there is no fiddling around with wires etc and the batteries are rechargeable. Easy as charging your mobile phone, they last for 3 hours and each pair of batteries should last approximately 500 cycles. You can purchase new pairs of batteries for just £34.99.

Designed to mould to your hand perfectly, use of the McFit technology is present in this product. This is based on the liner, membrane and outer shell being laminated together which ultimately gives you a more flexible glove and therefore a better feel.

At just £149.99 this is a serious winter glove. Created to protect your hands from all the elements, they are available in black, and the stylish and subtle appearance which is the motif of Weise. Accesible from mid November, we advise pre ordering asap, so as to be certain that at least your hands will be nice and toasty this winter!

Alpinestars popular GP-R Jacket has been transformed just in time for winter into an amazing textile adaptation. The Alpinestars T-GP R Jacket is just £179.99, that’s less than half the price of the leather version!

At an amazingly affordable price for what could be the most successful motorcycle manufacturer around, the endless features that are integrated into this jacket guarantee you will be getting more than your moneys worth.

The jacket is constructed from a brushed PU coated polyamide fabric, this increases the abrasion resistance of the garment and enables long lasting durability. Water resistant and featuring a removable long-sleeved quilted liner in the interior, it is perfect for those colder days.

Removable CE certified Bio Armor elbow and shoulder protectors can be found, and if you desire extra protection the jacket has chest pad and back protector compartments with PE padding, and armour can be purchased to place into these.

Comfort is prominent with this jacket which has pre curved sleeves, designed to mould to your body perfectly. And with a Neoprene collar and wrist trims for enhanced comfort, zippered air intakes on the upper arms, a d-ring waist adjustment and wrist flap with Velcro tabs, the garment is enjoyable to wear. The jacket has a relaxed feel but provides a peace of mind that you are more than adequately safeguarded from the elements and accidents.

With YKK zips (which can be attached to selected Alpinestars leather and textile pants), convenient pockets and with a stylish and contemporary look in a variety of 3 colourways, Alpinestars have yet again provided us with THE apparel of 2012.
