The Knox Contour Race back protector is massively popular with race / track day riders, as their forward riding position (the racing position) allows the rider more room at the lower back area for further coccyx protection. The Contour back protector offers this protection.

Ever since the launch of this protector, this spine hugging Contour has been as instant success. This is down to its unrivalled combination of comfort, light weight and class leading protection.

The Venturi cooling system is also featured within the Contour protectors. This simple & ingenious design of ridges on the side of the Contour, that act like chimneys, allow hot air from the body to be drawn up and out of the top, by the collar. The waistband is covered with 'L System' fabric, which incorporates Coolmax, that aids temperature control, and Amicor, an antibacterial fibre that reduces odours caused by perspiration.

Knox Contour back protectors remain the 1st and only back protector to be 'S' shaped, and therefore following the contour of the spine (hence the name!) Generous use of honeycomb polypropylene cells mean that the Contour transmits only 6KN of energy, a massive 30% below the 9KN threshold set for level 2 protectors under the rigorous new European EN1621-2 back protector standard. Additional protection is provided by a covering of tear and abrasion resistant Schoeller Dynatec material down the centre. 

Weighing just 600g the Contour is one of the lightest back protectors on the market, but offers maximum coverage of the back area, including side impact panels.

You can if desired, attach a Knox CE approved chest protector to the cross over 'Z-fastener' strap system at the front.
