The Venturi cooling system is also featured within the Contour protectors. This simple and ingenious design of ridges on the side of the Contour, that act like chimneys, allow hot air from the body to be drawn up and out of the top, by the collar. The waistband is covered with 'L System' fabric, which incorporates Coolmax, that aids temperature control, and Amicor, an antibacterial fibre that reduces odours caused by perspiration.

Knox Contour back protectors remain the 1st and only back protector to be 'S' shaped, and therefore following the contour of the spine (hence the name!) Generous use of honeycomb polypropylene cells mean that the Contour transmits only 6KN of energy, a massive 30% below the 9KN threshold set for level 2 protectors under the rigorous new European EN1621-2 back protector standard. Additional protection is provided by a covering of tear and abrasion resistant Schoeller Dynatec material down the centre.
